Romanian Society of Medical Informatics
Romanian Society of Medical Informatics (RSMI) is a scientific, professional and non-governmental organization. RSMI aims to actively promote research by growing the medical informatics community, a mix of academic, commercial, and medical professionals.
SRIM has members with diverse backgrounds: medical professionals, IT experts, engineers, mathematicians and other professionals working in the field of medical informatics.
Politehnica University of Timișoara
Established in 1920, shortly after the union of Romanian territories, in a European context marked by the redefinition of states and by the aftermath of World War I, the Polytechnic School in Timisoara – as was originally called – was the answer to one of the requirements of the Romanian society of the time, namely the formation of engineers.
Interested in responding to the labor market demands and to the need for long-life training and development required by the complex challenges of the modern society, the portfolio of specializations offered by the Politehnica University Timisoara meets the needs of contemporary society, reflecting the close relationship the university holds with the socio-economic environment.
West University of Timișoara
The West University of Timișoara (UVT) advocates for an education correlated with the immediate needs of the labor market, an education that aims, in addition to scientific performance and socio-economic employment, to reveal the human personality as a whole.
West University of Timișoara has its foundations on the sustainable tradition of higher education supported by the establishment in Timișoara of the Faculty of Philosophy (1841) and then of the Faculty of Law (1845). Today, the West University of Timișoara offers 73 undergraduate programs and 87 master’s degree programs in 34 fields, and doctoral studies in 12 fields.
“Victor Babeş” University of Medicine and Pharmacy
“Victor Babeş” University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Timișoara (UMFT) today marks 75 years since its establishment, 75 years of continuous activity of university medical education, research, and development of medical resources in Health and for Health. In 2020, the “Victor Babeș” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Timișoara trains 6,646 students, of which 6,462 in bachelor’s programs and 184 in master’s programs. Currently, approximately 98 professors, 118 lecturers, 170 supervisors and 426 university assistants are involved in the educational process in the University. The mission of the “Victor Babeș” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Timișoara is to contribute to the development of society, through education, research in the field of medical sciences and the promotion of the universal values of culture.
